Working at STAGS
Benefits of Working at STAGS
Working at STAGS is exceptionally rewarding. Our students make outstanding progress and leave school with excellent qualifications and the self-belief to help them to build a successful future. Our expectations are high for both students and staff, and we all strive to continually improve and develop our practice. We have a fantastic Senior Leadership team who are highly thought of, and who endeavour to understand where we can improve and do better.
We are consistently in the Top 100 Secondary Schools in the country and as a member of Ambition Education Trust, we offer excellent professional development opportunities for all. As a result, colleagues have a wealth of opportunities to develop their careers, with many promoted internally.
We are genuinely committed to the wellbeing of all of our staff. We have a Positive Workload Working Group in operation as a commitment to all of our staff and understanding their job roles. Staff views are important, we ask (via survey), and we offer a range of wellbeing support which includes free health checks, flu jabs, access to mental health first aiders as well as financial support and guidance. Visitors to the school often comment on the positive atmosphere throughout and how exceptionally friendly and supportive our staff are, with staff social gatherings very well attended and include getting together at Christmas time and at least one BBQ in the summer term.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Vacancies are subject to an enhanced DBS check and references.
We strongly promote equality of opportunity and minimise unconscious bias by presenting blind view applications to hiring managers and ensure that ethnicity is unknown throughout all hiring processes.
