Welcome to

St Albans Girls' School

Student Parliament

It is imperative that students' voices are heard so that our school can move forward with the best interests of it's most valuable participants at the centre.

Every Form Group at St Albans Girls' School has two students who are the representatives of the Form at Student Parliament. The Form Captain and Vice Captain. One representative is present at each Student Parliament.  Prior to each meeting the agenda is shared with all students so that the representatives can discuss the topics with their Form Group and then give feedback to Head Students and the Head of Key Stage in the Student Parliament session.

The Head Students meet frequently with senior colleagues to review the minutes from each meeting to ensure that the voice of the students is heard.

Key Areas discussed are:

  • School environment and resources
  • Student wellbeing
  • Teaching and Learning
  • The wider student experience
  • The School Improvement Plan

Learner Voice is also a key part of Student Parliament and after each session ‘You said, We did’  actions are promoted and shared with all students and staff.
